An innovative 8mm camcorder that allows shooting while viewing an LCD monitor.
Description
This home-use camcorder, produced by Sharp Corporation, features a 4-inch color LCD monitor and a rotating camera unit. Unlike traditional viewfinder-based models, it enables users to shoot while watching the screen, making it accessible even for beginners. It also allows immediate playback on the spot, shifting the experience from simply “recording” to “recording and viewing together.”
The rotating camera unit makes high- and low-angle shooting easier, and even allows users to film themselves. This concept can be seen as a precursor to today’s “selfie” culture. The design has since influenced modern video and digital cameras.
