【Background】

There are two challenges in microscope training at universities and high schools where ECLIPSE Ei is mainly used.
(1) It is difficult for teachers to simultaneously instruct multiple students who are using microscopes for the first time, and it is difficult for students to remember the meanings and names of the multiple operating components.
(2) The burden of carrying heavy microscopes from various storage locations for each practical training.
Recognizing these issues, we created an operation manual exclusively for smartphones. In order to improve portability, cords are stored in the main body of the microscope and a handle is provided to allow the user to grasp the microscope at a natural angle.

【Design ideas and thoughts】

The rounded, friendly body line is comfortable to use and carry, and has the effect of lowering the barrier for students to use microscopes. The elegant and beautiful form of this model is intended to brighten up the laboratory by renewing the dour image of conventional microscopes. Every detail has been thoroughly considered, including a graphic user interface that makes sense at a glance, dials that allow intuitive operation even while looking through the microscope, a lightweight and compact handle that can be accessed from anywhere, and a storage compartment on the back for efficiently and beautifully storing the AC adapter. Our goal is to contribute to society as a long-life product that solves problems in the educational field through the power of design.
