Each of the first editions of Soseki Natsume, a great writer, is beautifully bound, and one can feel the author’s enthusiasm for making books.
Description
When Soseki Natsume published his first book, “I am a Cat,” he wrote in a letter to a friend, “I want to make a beautiful book. For the publication of “Kokoro,” he personally designed the binding and realized his long-held desire for bookbinding.
In these books, we can see the influence of Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau, which Soseki was influenced by while he was studying in England.
