Designs by Tadashi Ohashi, one of the leading postwar graphic designers
Description
Inspired by Kono Takashi, Ohashi Tadashi aspired to be a graphic designer and enrolled in Tokyo Higher Technical School in 1934. After graduating, he worked at Daimaru Department Store and Japan Telegraph Communication Agency before going freelance. After the war, he worked on many projects for Meiji Seika and Kikkoman, and even exhibited at the Graphic 55 exhibition.
This work is a poster for Meiji Seika’s flagship product, Meiji Milk Chocolate. The work won an award at the 2nd Japan Advertising Art Exhibition, which led to Ohashi taking on work for Meiji Seika.
